Careful what you ask...

    Angels

who answer your prayers...

I worked with a wonderful woman who had the unique ability to get involved in complicated situations.  I would walk out of her office, hands in the air, looking up, saying, half-jokingly, "Lord, grant me patience in working with Celestine."

One day Celestine stopped me, "You shouldn't pray for that."  Exasperated, I asked why not.  "Because," she answered wisely, "God will keep giving you trials to see if you have the patience you asked for.  I mean, you do keep asking for patience, don't you?"

Stunned, I thought it over.  "You are absolutely right!  The Lord thinks I must not have the patience I think I need - so he is waiting for me to...."  I walked out her door, looked up and smiled, saying "Lord, thank you for my patience.  I have all I need."

In a month, Celestine had a new job and we were both delighted.  The Lord allowed her to move on, I didn't need any more testing of my patience.
